The Recession’s over?
The Yorkshire Post reports a survey on April 14 that says although output from private sector firms shrank for the 11th month in a row in March but there are hopes the worst of the recession may be over.
The pace at which activity fell was the slowest since last September and could signal that the downturn is beginning to bottom out (according to the RBS’s index of purchasing managers). Positive news from the RBS? Now that’s what you call spin.

Six degrees networking
We are currently advising Networking Direct, a pay-as-you-go networking group that brings business people together to meet, make connections and build contacts.
Networking Direct offers a mix of traditional and new style networking by enabling small-to-medium businesses within the Yorkshire region to access like-minded businesses and contacts outside of their own circle of influence by employing the concept of the Six Degrees of Separation.
Made popular by film star Kevin Bacon, the theory behind the Six Degrees concept is that anyone on the planet can be connected with anyone else through a chain of acquaintances no more than six people long.
Harrogate is the next town to get the Networking Direct Six Degrees experience with a first event on Tuesday, 2 June (2.45 - 5.30pm) at St Michael's Hospice on Hornbeam Park, Harrogate. Why not book on at website and try it out for yourself?
